Wo satellite 24 hours earth par signal bhejata hai, us signal ko receive karne ke liye hume ek GPS receiver chahiye, GPS receiver apni jagah ka anuman pruthvi ke upar ghumane wale GPS satellite ke samuh ke dwara bheje jane wale signal ke aadhar pe karata hai, Har ek satellite 24 hours signal bhejata rehata hai, receiver us signal ka time aur us satellite ka distance bhi receive karata hai, Receiver better result ke liye 4 satellite ka upyog karata hai, jisase user ki  dimensional position(latitude, longitude and altitude line) ka pata chalata hai, ek bar GPS system ko GPS device ka location pata chalne ke bad wo device ki dusari jankari find karata hai jaise ki usaki speed, distance, dusare location se distance etc.

GPS Locking 

GPS locking se kisibhi device ke place ka exact location trace kiya ja sakta hai. GPS lock tracker ki moving speed par depend hota hai. jaise ki koi car chala raha hai to usaki accuracy kum hogi aur usaka exact location bhi find karne me time lag jata hai. GPS receiver ko start kis tarah se kiya gaya hai is baat par GPS locking depend karta hai aur ye 3 tarah se hota hai. – Hot, Warm and Cold.

Hot start– Agar GPS ko apni last position aur satellite ke sath hi UTC time pata hai to ye usi satellite ki help leta hai aur available information ke hisab se new position ka pata lagata hai. Ye process apki position parbhi depend karti hai, Agar GPS receiver last wali location ke aaspaas hi hai to tracking bahot fast ho jata hai.

Warm start– Isame GPS receiver last wale GPS satellite ke alava old information bhi store rakhata hai.  Is tarah se receiver sara data reset kar deta hai aur new position find karne ke liye satellite signal ka upyog karta hai, Ye hot start se slow hai but thode hi time me tracking kar leta hai.

Cold start– Ye situation me koi bhi information nahi hoti hai is liye device All information jaise ki satellite, position etc. ko find karna start karta hai, is liye isame position ko trace karne me bahot time lag jata hai.

Hum yaha par Mobile ka example le rahe hai, Humare Mobile me GPS receiver kaise kam karata hai, Sabse pehle mobile apne najdiki satellite ko find karke usake signal receive karata hai, isake liye minimum 4 satellite se signal milana avashyak hai, jisame 3 satellite wo signal kaha par mil rahe he usaka accurate location batata hai, jabki 1 satellite us receiver ki unchai(height) dikhata hai, is tarah hume hamara exact location mil jata hai,

S-GPS se Mobile phone ko GPS and Voice data ek hi time par milte hai, Ek network carrier ke liye satellite adharit reporting ko improve karne ke liye ye tarika adopt kiya jata hai, isase hi network provider location based service provide kara pate hai.
